A fun, safe, sleep away camp for kids ages 8-13! A great place to make friends, play and learn in the outdoors, and just be a kid. LABCC has been going strong for over 30 years, probably because we're still kids at heart ourselves, but also because our volunteer staff is well-trained and focused on making Camp great for the kids. Many staff members have been coming every summer for over 20 years and we have lots of young high-energy counselors, many of whom are returning campers themselves! (See? The fun isn't just for the kids.)

So what do you want to know? Here's a quick list.

Camp FAQ's

CAMP LOCATION AND FACILITIES
CAMP MORNING STAR is located in the Barton Flats area of the San Bernardino National Forest north of Redlands approximately 85 miles east of Los Angeles.  The camp is in a wilderness area regulated by the U.S. Department of Forestry and is a beautiful and natural rustic site.
All of the cabins are enclosed and toilet facilities have plumbing.  There is a lodge/dining hall that is equipped with a full service kitchen, pantry and scullery.
A heated pool and campfire rings are available daily and we have access to a variety of overnight sites and a lake.
The infirmary is staffed  24 hours a day by on-site registered nurses who are supported by “on call” doctors.

If your child does not camp regularly, this list may seem extravagant.  It was developed based on many years of camping experience. Each item was listed with your child’s safety and comfort in mind.  Be aware that animals identify fruity smelling items (shampoo, lotions, chapstick) with food and could pose a hazard to its user. Campers walk everywhere, there is no pavement, try to focus on good footwear.  Use a permanent marker and write your child’s name on every item.  Limit your child to one large soft sided carryall luggage bag and sleeping bag in a nylon stuff sack.  Do not tie loose articles to the exterior of either bag.
